TELEPHONE SUPPORT LINE VOLUNTEERS

The Telephone Support Line which is looked after by our trained and very dedicated volunteers would not be able to operate so well without wonderful people volunteering their time to look after others 365 days of the year – 24 hours a day.

Our volunteers are there to support family members of homicide who need to speak with someone at anytime of the day or night. They are there to take crisis calls from police, ambulance officers, counsellors, the media and anyone that has an interest in contacting the HVSG, it’s committee, staff or other family members.
We appreciate so much what they do.

24 HOUR SUPPORT LINE

1800 191 777 – Someone is available to talk to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

During office hours, a counsellor will talk with you and after office hours, a volunteer will be available. Volunteers are sometimes counsellors and sometimes, family members who have been through a similar experience and have now trained to help others.

It is important to remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Help is a phone call away, day or night.

A good rule of thumb is, if you are considering whether you need to call – you need to call! This is your service – use it when you need it.

If you are worried about your reactions or feelings, please call us on 02 8833 8400 or toll free 1800 191 777 any time of the day or night. info@hvsgnsw.org.au
